PACK IT UP

During the course of three years I moved from state to state a total of 11 times. I was in Mississippi for  year and a half and in Cuba for training for two weeks. Yes I lived on a ship for a year and on base or at home in Idaho near my parents for the remainder of the time. The only back pack I owned was taken, and the clothes I owned were ones I had bought while away during these years. Packing wasn't as  big a deal as it is today, now it shows how you can roll your outfits, this is to prevent wrinkles, I've also seen stack and fold ideas which could be just as beneficial, I'm not only talking clothes now you see, but during the short time in the Navy I had the privilege of working in the deck division where we stowed gear and restored gear that we had just stowed. This was for movement at sea, so that things didn't fly or fall especially during strong weather that would cause rocking  which I have experienced. It just seemed like alot of work for the few things we did have in the boatswain locker. Valuable lesson learned, every thing has a place and everything was in its place. I've found I do this at home, get things where I think they should go and then move them.
Now as I prepare for my trip to New England this week up and coming I want to travel light and smart. Comfortable shoes, sweaters in case of cooler weather. I've read it will be in the 70s which is cooler than Colorado.  I want to remember my swim suit of course and maybe a couple pairs of shorts for summer time or beach time. Hopefully I will get some biking in in New Hampshire. Packing light is my goal.
Looking forward to visitingerie Pennsylvania, Maine, New Hampshire,  Massachusetts, and possibly Rhode Island in the next week. With three overnight stays of up to three days each.

The Only Things For Miles

I recently found a blog with several followers.. The Big Purse Dump.. I was impressed mostly by the contents and how many women would like to share. These women being Mothers as far as I can see, of small children, and the contents were not only funny but also surprising..
I worked a stadium security post at the Sports Field in the City one year, it was volunteer to raise money for the school band. I had a chance to see what most women carry to the game, usually in small hand bags, you would be surprised what one thinks important to carry around to sporting events... Pens, make up, money, combs and Id. The others just threw a blanket and snacks in a large bag or back pack and a wallet and they were set for the day.
All this being said, I just want to share here what I can carry in one Purse. I am a commuter on Public Transportation, I am away from home all day and spend over an hour each way to work. I find that I only need a few basic things to keep me occupied for this time, I do need to play it safe, being that I am alone for some time and do a minimum of one transfer each way.  So to keep myself entertained daily I do carry a shoulder bag that weighs just five pounds.....

Now that I look inside I see I have a second small purse that fits within this one which is only to organize, and allows me to grab and go when traveling light...
I will attempt to give you an idea of what is here... by organizing it ....
From the top left down I have my1. Kindle 2. small purse for personal items 3. Wallet 4. Coin purse 5. buss pass 6. work ID
Top center: 7. Music player and ear phones 8. Battery charger 9. phone 10. Eye glasses 11. comb
Top right  12. Hair tie 13. pack of gum 14. mints 15. contacts 16. lip gloss 17. nail file 18. Kleenex 19. Maise 20. knife   Bottom right Several area buss schedules.
Not as clever as some of the Moms that have things you could never guess, yet I do think it is impressive and I try not to flash to many electronics at one time, although looking up something on the phone while reading in the Kindle comes in handy.. All in a day of commuting in the Big City.....
